2002-2008 Housing Consultation Services, Sole Proprietor
Shelley served as a statewide housing consultant for people with disabilities, their families and private, non-profit agencies needing assistance with affordable/subsidized housing in MA.

2002-2013 Board of Directors, Co-Chair, Community Choice Supports
Board Member and Housing Adviser to human service provider for people with disabilities in greater Boston area.

1996-2013 South Shore Support Services, Inc.
Initially hired as a housing advocate for individuals served through the MA Department of Mental Retardation to address and prevent homelessness for one of their area offices. Those efforts quickly evolved into advocacy, education and consultation services throughout the Commonwealth which included litigation to address discrimination, public speaking, and coordination of regional specialized housing programs. In addition to housing, Shelley worked directly with consumers in residential settings and with individuals and families through the Family Support Center administered through SSSS.

1989-1996 Family Advocate, Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore
Direct services provided to homeless families in emergency shelter. Intake, assessments, case management, group facilitation, volunteer coordination, program development, networking and collaboration with community resources to assist in stabilization during and after shelter.

1989-1991 Community Service Worker, The Salvation Army, Quincy Temple Corps
Performed intake and needs assessment, provided information and referral services as well as administration of several financial aid programs for individuals and families in need, including overseeing food pantry and clothing assistance. Collaborated and networked with other community organizations to better serve our clientele.

1986-1989 Founder and Facilitator, WAIT, Wives Are Incarcerated, Too
Created and facilitated a support group for wives and girlfriends of the incarcerated in MA. Provided information and referral and spoke publicly regarding the unique issues families face when a loved one goes to prison.
